A surprise engagement on Maui!

Aloha Elua701 Blog followers. Yes I have been conspicuously absent from blogging for many months, BUT something happened in June that was so joyful and amazing, that I just could not post about it!

Two of our guests, Jen and Josh, have been friends for over 14 years but never lived in the same place. It was only after a serendipitous cross country road trip that the two reconnected again.

After living together in Northern California for 7 years, Josh finally decided that Maui was the place to make their relationship official. Jen, a professional project manager by trade, had planned their trip packed with a full itinerary. However, Josh had other plans. He managed to sneak in a private helicopter tour to Moloka’i with their two closest friends, where he surprised Jen by popping the question. After making a quick stop overlooking a secluded beach in Maui, Josh proposed, and Jen gave an emphatic “Of course!”

Way to go Josh! Now THAT is a memorable proposal! 

After landing back in Maui, the two returned to Ulua Beach for some photos of the sunset and a dip in the ocean. They were kind enough to provide a few of their photos so we can all share in the joy of their moment.

CONGRATULATIONS Jen and Josh! Julie and I wish you all the happiness in the world!! Maybe we will see you back in Elua 701 for your honeymoon? ;)
